Alan "Al" Austin was an investigative reporter, writer, and producer. Austin began his career at CBS affiliate WCCO in Minnesota in the 1970s, one of three founders of the I-Team (the investigative journalist team), later moving to PBS's investigative news show Frontline in the late 1980s, where he produced several investigative documentaries. Austin died in March 29, 2018 in hospice care in Phoenix after a long fight with cancer. He was 89.
