Launched the Australian People's Theatre (associated with the Sydney Theatre Company). Has a daughter born in 1996 and a son from a previous marriage. He is most famous for SeaChange (1998) and All Saints (2008). Ambassador for Variety (The Children's Charity) and Australian Mitochondrial Disease Foundation ( AMDF ).
