About Long Vân

Long Vân (b. 1932/1933 in Hanoi) is a Vietnamese director. He belonged to the first directing class of the Vietnam Film School, studying alongside other notable directors such as People's Artists Hải Ninh and Huy Thành. After graduating, he directed several films, and became widely known for the four-part series "Saigon Rangers" (1986), about a historic real-life organization of brave Vietnamese youths fighting as spies within South Vietnam before 1975. The series was the first Vietnamese feature production in color.
