He received a diploma at the Faculty of Architecture of the Warsaw University of Technology in 1974, and in 1979 he graduated from the Directing Department of the Polish National Film School in Łódź . In the 1970s, he co-founded the Independent Salon cabaret. Then he mainly took up film activities. He is known mainly for roles in such films as Man of Marble and Wodzirej .
