Okan Buruk (October 19, 1973, Istanbul) is one of the most prominent figures in Turkish football. Buruk began his football career in the youth academy of Galatasaray and made his professional debut at a young age. His dynamism in midfield, competitive spirit, and technical ability made him an indispensable player for Galatasaray. He played a pivotal role in historic achievements such as the UEFA Cup and UEFA Super Cup wins between 1996 and 2000. His outstanding performances earned him a move to Inter Milan in Italy in 2001. After gaining European experience, he returned to Turkey to play for Beşiktaş and then Galatasaray once again. He concluded his playing career at İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor (now Başakşehir FK) before transitioning into coaching. As a coach, he has managed teams such as Elazığspor, Gaziantepspor, Sivasspor, Göztepe, Akhisar Belediyespor, and Çaykur Rizespor.
