(SAN FRANCISCO, CA) -- Theatre actor Randy Wendelin, also known as porn star Steve Regis, died Thursday, July 26, 2001 at Lands End Beach in San Francisco. He had an on-going heart condition for many years and died of a sudden-death-syndrome heart attack, according to his life-partner Tom Finan. "He had tripped on some wooden steps and managed to get back up, but when we started to walk, he took another step, became light-headed and fell backwards into my arms. I laid him on the ground and cradled him. Our friend Matt, who was with us, called 911 and they gave instruction to me on mouth-to-mouth. When the medics arrived, they pronounced Randy dead," Mr. Finan said in an e-mail announcing Randy's passing.
