About Susie Labry

Known as a "Louisiana Sunshine" and Woman of Many Hats, Susie Labry was born at Southern Baptist Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana on December 31st, 1953. As one of ten kids, she was raised in New Orleans, graduated from LSU in 1979 with a BA degree in Government, and has lived most of her life in Baton Rouge. Throughout her life, she has worked various jobs in clerical, entertainment, music, and political fields, in various political campaigns and as page at legislature, where she has even volunteered as citizen advocate with great impact for various campaigns, community activities, causes, and church work. She has worked mostly in front of camera as an actor and extra in more than 370 projects in feature films, television, independent & indigenous films, class films, contests, and live plays. She has even served behind the camera in roles such as casting assistant and production assistant behind the camera, and over the camera, by attracting and keeping film in Louisiana and advocating to keep and enhance film industry tax credits at the Legislature and Governor. She has also recorded as a singer, instrumentalist, and background vocals in a few releases. She has been appointed and ran for various offices, and she has served on various state and party positions and various party Executive Committees. She loves meeting and relating to all kinds of people, building relationships and networking. She has volunteered in Community Activities, Festivals, Conventions, Louisiana Collections, and LaCAN Developmental Disabilities. She has advocated for causes such as Aspergers/Autism and Genealogy/Family History. She has played a hand in building up the Louisiana Film Industry into a champion massive grassroots effort to bring in, boost, and save our film and music industry and their tax credits building alliances through film groups, social media film groups, unions, and trade organizations. She is always organizing and seeking needs and solutions to fulfill and problems to solve in Entertainment (Film and Music), Community, and Politics.
