He majored in anthropology and psychology at the University of Tsukuba, and graduated from the Professional Photographer Course of the Tokyo Academy of Photography. In 2005, he started his own agency, Yukai Hands. In 2014, he made his directorial debut with the film Recently, My Sister is Unusual.
