In 1981, he graduated from the drama and film actor department of the Azerbaijan State Art Institute and was appointed to the Academic National Drama Theater in the same year. Abbas served in the military in 1981-1983. After his return, Qahramanov started working again at the Academic National Drama Theater. In 1988, he continued his acting career at the State Youth Theater.
