He began his career in the mid-1980s and made his directorial debut with the television series Circus (1989), which introduced Shah Rukh Khan to audiences.Mirza transitioned to films with Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, followed by successful collaborations such as Yes Boss and Chalte Chalte, frequently working with Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla. He also co-founded the production company Dreamz Unlimited with Khan and Chawla. After a brief hiatus, Mirza returned to direction with Kismat Konnection, starring Shahid Kapoor and Vidya Balan.
