She was the leading actress in feature films such as Altered States (1980), Continental Divide (1981), and Strapless (1989), and she played the title character in the television comedy-drama The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd. Later supporting roles include Nina Sharp on Fringe and Judy King on Orange Is the New Black.
