About Debbie Howard

Debbie worked as an actor before setting up Big Buddha Films in 2006. Her BFI Network funded short film, Safe won 'Best Director' and 'Best Screenplay' at the BAFTA qualifying Aesthetica Short Film Festival in 2023. She made the critically acclaimed, award winning feature documentary, Still Loved and has directed over 80 episodes of television for the BBC, Channel 5 and ITV. She is a full voting member of BAFTA. She is a member of BIFA, Cinesisters, Prime Time, Women in Film and TV, Director's UK and Free The Work.
