She has a French-Canadian mother and a father who immigrated to Canada from Austria. As a teenager, she was partly home-schooled and later moved to London, England, to study acting, including Meisner training at the Actors Temple. During her stay in London, she was a member of a local punk band called “The Dirt,” where she was active as a bassist and singer. Em Haine has gradually taken on roles in films and series since around the mid-2010s.
