Jacobi began his career in theater in the 1950s. He was actor at the Burgtheater, Vienna and the Schauspielhaus Zürich. He is known for his role in The Tin Drum and as the narrator in The White Ribbon. Jacobi lived in Munich. He died in Vienna on June 23, 2022.
