About Hideo Gosha

​From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.   Hideo Gosha (February 26, 1929—August 30, 1992) was a Japanese film director. Among his most famous films are Goyokin and Hitokiri, released in 1969, and The Wolves, released in 1971. His most famous film in the West is Sword of the Beast, released by Criterion. Gosha's films are some of the darkest films from the samurai genre. He won the 1984 Japan Academy Prize for Director of the Year for The Geisha.
