He belonged to Johnny & Associates, but later left the agency in 1976 to Burning Production Co., Ltd. He married the actress Nitani Yurie in 1987 and they had two daughters. The couple divorced in 1998. He remarried in 2000 but divorced again in April of 2005. He registered marriage to former talento and office worker Tokutake Rina on March 31st, 2012. He became a father of twin boys in late July 2014.
