He has spent most of his career with New Japan Pro-Wrestling, where he became a one-time IWGP World Heavyweight Champion, five-time NEVER Openweight Champion, two-time IWGP Intercontinental Champion, one-time IWGP Tag Team Champion, and one-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion. Goto has also won several major tournaments, including the G1 Climax in 2008 and the New Japan Cup in 2009, 2010, and 2012. In World Tag League competition, he won in 2012 alongside Karl Anderson, in 2014 with Katsuyori Shibata, and in 2021, 2022, and 2023 with YOSHI-HASHI as Bishamon.
