Mozaffari’s 2023 short film, Motherland, is inspired by her parents’ experiences during the 1979 Iran hostage crisis. The film won Best Canadian Short Film at the Toronto International Film Festival and Best Drama at both Aspen Shortsfest and HollyShorts Film Festival. It also earned two Canadian Screen Awards, including Best Live Action Short Drama.
