John F. Henry II
ActingAbout John F. Henry II
New Jersey born and Los Angeles raised, John decided to become an actor in 1996, and has been training and working on stage and in film ever since. He has worked and trained with the deliberate intention of becoming versatile, believable and relatable as an "everyman". He uses his own life experiences and imagination to create the person he is portraying, always conscious of keeping that person in the world that is on the screen. Directors often remark that they find John's commitment to the work inspiring and that he is always super prepared and easy to direct. Other actors love working with him because of his commitment, versatility and believability "he draws you in". He is known for getting to the soul the person he is playing, without playing stereotypes or clichés, thus making all the people he portrays, very real, yet still cinematic. With his focus mostly on the work of an actor, he has tended to neglect the business side and thus, he has not yet been "discovered". Desiring to change that, in 2018 John and his wife Tanya started their own production company, Singularity Productions, and have been producing work that reflects their creative sensibilities of "story first", character driven pieces, for TV and film. Great classics such as "On the Water Front", "Apocalypse Now" & Orson Welles's "Touch of Evil" are some of the films that made John want to take on the craft of acting. The Atwater Playhouse and Method Acting School, is where John is a current and long time member, it is what John calls his "creative home". Early on, he trained at The Meisner Center in North Hollywood, CA, as well as with many other private coaches throughout his career.
