Born Lucille Georgette Perlot in Boston, Massachusetts, she graduated with a degree in Arts from the Carnegie Institute of Technology and was selected Outstanding Young Actress of 1950 by the New York Theatre Guild. She later appeared in movies and on television, before going to work for Time in Chicago. She also was national public relations director for Women in Communication, Inc.
