She was born as Maria Aliferopoulou in Agios Ioannis, Laconia. She studied at the Athens Law School. After completing her studies, she began her career as an actress. She first appeared in film and television in 1972 and in theater in 1973. She played in many television series and presented some game shows with great success, such as The Squares of the Stars, A Little of Everything, Do What I Do.
