After a period as a freelancer starting in 2009, he returned to AJPW in 2013 as both a director, co-booker, and active wrestler. Throughout his career, Fuchi also wrestled in North America, winning the AWA Tag Team Championship in Memphis with Atsushi Onita in the 1980s. In 2016, he regained the All Asia Tag Team Championship, 35 years after his last win in that category.
