Miguel Henrique Borges, professional name Miguel Borges (Picos, Piauí, February 21, 1937 - São Lourenço, Minas Gerais, June 17, 2013) was a Brazilian filmmaker and journalist, working in Rio newspapers such as O metropolitano, Tribuna da Imprensa, Última Hora and Jornal do Comércio and Prensa Latina. He is considered one of the precursors of Cinema Novo due to his direction in the episode "Zé da Cachorra" in the collective film Cinco Vezes Favela, being his first work as a director. He ended his work as a filmmaker in 1985 with the short film "The Shoes".
