He is also the second American Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt under world renowned Renzo Gracie, he is Chief Instructor along with his brother Matt Serra in this family-run academy. As a member of the Renzo Gracie Competition Team, he has earned many awards and titles such as Grappler's Quest Absolute Division Champion and IFF No Holds Barred Heavyweight Champion. He has fought in various mixed martial arts events, including UFC.
