Born of a French mother and English father, Philip has dual nationality and is bilingual in English and French. His first stage performance was in 1965 at primary school from where he obtained a scholarship to The Haberdashers' Aske's School, Elstree. Here, he made his first TV appearance, as a winner on BBC's "Crackerjack" and, through an RAF Flying Scholarship, learned to fly, aged 17. Philip then worked as a flying instructor, airline pilot, VIP Handling Agent for the rich and famous, legal interpreter, encyclopaedia salesman and customer service manager before becoming an actor in 1994. Gaining his Equity Card in 1997, Philip took short courses at The Actor's Centre and RADA plus private lessons partly funded by selling cut-price TVs and data inputting. 1999 saw a reprise of his first career by playing a "Naboo Pilot" in Star Wars: Épisode I - La menace fantôme (1999). Philip's authentic French accent helped him obtain TV work and since 2008, he has credits on 5 feature films and numerous shorts, including lead roles. In 2004, he toured Newcastle as an undercover multi-millionaire for Rolls-Royce and has worked on corporate events from Gleneagles to the Orient Express. In 2003, Philip set up a project to help disaffected young adults at a local school with their interview and personal impact skills.
