Sarah Quist is a singer songwriter, actress, writer, director and producer. She cut her professional teeth as a singer working with great musicians such as Herbie Flowers, Steve Grey from ”Sky” Hazel O’Connor and others, whilst playing in famous London venues such as Ronnie Scotts, The 100 Club and The Bass Clef. Since then she has been wowing audiences with her big soulful voice singing Jazz, Blues and Soul with various bands on different countries including US, Australia, Spain, Thailand and more. She has also recorded on several albums over the years. She was lucky enough to work on an album in Memphis with the legendary soul producer Willie Mitchell, who produced such greats as Al Green, Tina Turner and many many more. As a band-leader and songwriter she has her had several bands including 'Indian Spring' and 'The Sarah Quist Quartet' where they performed covers and original material. As an actress Sarah trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA), has worked on several different seasons with the Royal Shakespeare Company, The National Theatre of Scotland, Disney productions, Talawa and many others. These have been incredible experiences - working alongside people such as Vanessa Redgrave, Alan Cumming, Don Warrington, Rufus Norris, Alecky Blythe, Phillip Voss, John Tiffany... She recently appeared in was King Lear which was a joint production between Talawa and Birmingham Repertory Theatre. She is currently part of the cast of the Tom Stoppard play Travesties directed by Patrick Marber. As a teacher Sarah is one of the Co-Founders of Creative Awakenings. They work using the arts to facilitate learning for schools and community groups. They look at improving peoples confidence, communication skills and social skills.
