He was an active participant in various film movements in Portugal before and after the revolution of April 25, 1974. That same year, he became one of the founding partners of CINEQUANON, a film cooperative that played a key role during the revolution. In 1997, he founded FADO FILMES, one of the most important Portuguese film production companies.
