Critic Reviews for Re-encounter
This is a dark story. It is a coming of age movie about two teens having a baby. They were very naïve and the consequences were not favorable. Hyehwa (Yoo Da In) is a girl that didn't seem to take anything serious. She was a bit abusive and crazy. Hansoo (Yoo Yeon Seok) was a boy in love. He was very kind and seemed to be mentally impaired. It could have just been a directing choice but it came across as he was being taken advantage of and weak. He was committed to her and his child in his own way. Both actors played their roles to perfection. I felt their pain and frustration. They were young and manipulated by the adults. It is a sad story. I really liked the last scene. True to Korean template, it was incredibly sad and someone died. Also, what was up with the man catching dogs?
