Critic Reviews for Spree
A fun horror movie about how we use social media and how our use of social media can reach to horryfying level, A watch!
As much as I wish 'Spree' would try to have its cake and eat it too by going deeper with its satire (and it IS possible to do a black comedy that explores deep societal issues), on the surface it is an equally fun and bleak look at a young man driven to insanity by his own hubris. It's just a shame the surface is all there is to it. - Ashley Teresa Read Ashley's full article... https://www.maketheswitch.com.au/article/review-spree-a-flawed-but-fun-black-comedy
Spree is a twisted thriller the implements dark humor well. Joe Keery does an excellent job carrying this movie, you really see the evolution of his character change from a sad sympathetic man to a deranged psychopath. The twist on the found film genre was unique with it being an Instagram Live with the added touches of live commenting on what is occurring. Overall, this was a fun film that didn't take itself too seriously with how twisted it was. **Verdict:** _Good_
