Critic Reviews for The Princess of Diamonds
Two princes are searching for a long lost princess when one of them gets a bit spooked by an ant hill. The elder, more gruff, gent gets cross with him but when he finds a diamond in the grass, they are suddenly introduced to an apparition of a beautiful lady who warns them that they only have a very little time before her not so pet dragon has it's lunch. They have a riddle to solve - but can it be solved in time? Can she be freed from her eternal curse? I quite enjoyed this animation extolling the virtues of "true love" and innocence at the expense of expedient greed. The use of dark shades against a bright coloured background works well, with some nice detail to the drawings as the story advances. Like most fairy tales, there's a moral to it, and though this one is predictable it's still quite touching and reminds us all that we are all carbon, when it comes down to it.
