Critic Reviews for The Witch
So close to being good fun. The horror elements of 'The Witch' are surprisingly effective, as are the (low budget, of course) special effects. The film made me feel uncomfortable on a fair few occasions across the 71 minute run time. However, sadly, that's all the positives I have for it. Its characters aren't strong enough, neither is the convoluted story. As for the acting, it's passable but again not really up to the standard that it alleviates any of the issues that I have with the film unfortunately. I wanted to come away from watching it by saying that I enjoyed it, because I so very nearly did, but I'd be telling porkies if I did. Kudos for the horror attempt though.
