Critic Reviews for The Woman in Green
This is maybe not one of the better of the fourteen outings for Messrs. Rathbone and Bruce, but it's still a thoroughly enjoyable watch as "Holmes" and "Watson" have to get to the bottom of a mystery that involves a series of apparently unrelated killings linked only by the fact that each victim has a severed finger. No "Lestrade" this time, but Matthew Boulton is "Insp. Gregson" who together with our deductive duo, tries to get to the bottom of it all - and as their investigations deepen, they discover that their long thought dead nemesis "Prof. Moriarty" (Henry Daniell) is back and even more nasty! This also has a suitably classy, menacing performance from Hilary Brooke as femme fatale "Lydia Marlow" to keep the pot boiling before quite a tense denouement. Well worth a watch.
