Critic Reviews for Unfriend
Rather a depesssing indictment of life by social media, this Filipino film. Sandino Martin is a 15 year old ditched by the love of his life Angelo Llagan at Christmas. He is determined to do all he can to retrieve the situation and the film depicts his futile efforts. We've got everything from religion, family, casual sex and self harming with little hope of redemption for anyone. Conceptually, it would be well worth paying attention to this film but the production is pretty poor; not much budget nor much idea what to do with it either. It does touch on significantly important issues for all parents with children having unfettered and/or unmonitored access to the internet - just not in a particularly engaging way.
