Critic Reviews for Wild Orchid II: Two Shades of Blue
Yeah a movie like this isn't getting made today, and that is a shame, but the lead character is a female that has a sexual awakening, which would get made today... ... but she is heterosexual which would make it problematic, and she isn't super-powered in anyway and has an actual journey overcoming hardships, which is also problematic. And that is all a shame. The movie isn't bad. It's erotic, which doesn't necessarily make if bad but tends to get it bad reviews (as if critics and people that watch movies don't want to admit that they could possibly like an erotic movie) and it is dramatic, but the big draw is that it's also atmospheric, and the three combined make it an interesting watch. At the end of the day you see a woman grow from lost after suffering the death of her father, to finding her new way in life. It's certainly worth a watch.
