Critic Reviews for Yearly Departed
This review show of the awful year 2020 was mostly a humorous review of people and things that the Covid epidemic put an end to, with a nod of the hat to Black Lives Matter and the political turmoil. It was basically a format to present stand-up humor, presented at a fictional funeral. Each woman discussed something or someone eliminated by the pandemic. A few of them fell a bit flat while others were genuinely funny. But for such an eventful, tumultuous year, the presentation felt rather tame. I thought one of the funniest parts was at the end when they ran a credits type of listing of stuff that ended in 2020. Christina Aguilera sand a neat song also to close the show. It was also a bit interesting when they showed how they used green screen to show the cast at the funeral while keeping them distanced. It was worth watching, but don’t let your expectations run away with you.
